I want to be able to help my city to start to heal over the total tragedy that occurred one month ago to the day 22nd of February 2011, the Christchurch Earthquake.
Since the earthquake on the 22nd
February, I have been trying to find a way that I could personally help the victims of Christchurch. I tried to think what I could do and decided that I could best help out in two ways!
1) Raising funds by painting and selling my work.
2) By holding Art workshops to help people express themselves …as a way to heal.
At this stage I am still working on
the logistics of holding Art Workshops, talking to suppliers and different people who hopefully will be able to help by donating products etc… but in the mean time I have been busy painting Touch Stones and selling them on Trade me and by word of mouth.
I also started to paint little artworks inspired by our Iconic Buildings here in Christchurch, and have had a lot of good response from people wanting to purchase them. So I am currently waiting to hear back from a supplier to see if they would come on board with donations of canvases….
I would be happy to hear from anyone that may have donations of art products, canvases that can be used in these upcoming workshops. Also we would love to hear from anyone that may have premises that we would be able to hold these ” Art for Quake” workshops in….
