What’s happening over 2011!

Hi all welcome to 2011!

It is hard to believe we are in 2011 already!!

I have really enjoyed having the last couple of weeks off relaxing, spending time with my Hubby and kids, playing tennis and taking the dog for walks.   But it’s time to get back to work… preparing my new curriculum for my upcoming Art Classes this year…

It’s going to be a busy year for me and I am really looking forward to it!

Last year I decided to expand my Night classes, and offer art classes during the week and weekend.  After the September 4th EarthQuake, I felt that people needed an  outlet to get rid of unwanted stress and worry!  Painting is a beautiful creative way that people could meet together and create unique works of art while dealing with all the unwanted stress that this earthquake brought with it.

I wanted to offer “something special”

ART CLASSES THAT WOULD HELP STUDENTS TO

LEARN- GROW- CREATE – while having fun discovering your “Creative Self”.

For students to explore various forms of mixed media in a fun and relaxed environment

I want my students to come to the end of each teaching block, and buzzing for more!! knowing product knowledge, knowing about what different mediums, additive, and grounds do, knowing about different pigments and viscosity etc.. and most of all getting in touch with their Creative Self!

I will be teaching Art Classes on a Saturday &  Tuesday morning 10am to 12pm and also  Teaching Adult Education Art Classes at  Papanui High School Monday Nights 7pm to 9pm.

As I have a Strong Passion for “Art in Schools”  I am happy that I am able to carry on offering my program this year to more schools in Christchurch.  This program allows more children  the unique opportunity to learn how to find their creative self through fun and experimenting with art products and different techniques.  I am looking forward to being able to confirm shortly the Schools that will be taking part in this program this year. ;

I am very much looking forward to a trip to Ireland later this year! and am looking forward to meeting up with family that I have not yet met! and experiencing some beautiful sights and sounds!!

My goal for creating artworks over the coming year, will be very much depended on how I feel! I will still paint commission work and work for my galleries but I have really enjoyed just painting a few larger works throughout the year, rather than feeling like I have to paint non stop!  I find that as I take a breath and take my time my work seems far more alive…

Keep watch for new artworks and  lots of exciting products and techniques to experiment with !

NEW BEGINNINGS

A FLIGHT IN THE SUN

That first bright step into the sunshine of life
begins with the opening of the family cocoon.
The caterpillar becomes a butterfly
spreading her wings into the world.

What she is today is but a tiny mirror.
of the transformation that is yet to come.
For with time, love, humor and warmth
She is an ever changing masterpiece.
Whether as wife, mother, career woman or all,
she will find her center of peace.
A place that is hers and hers alone,
the essence of what she is and will be.
Using the instincts that each of us have
to find the good in each other.
to be a caring friend, lover, helper and playmate,
to listen and share, to laugh and to cry.
With loving support of family and friends,
she takes flight down an unknown road towards her future,
like the rising of the sun in the east.
Each day filled with new beginnings.
Finding excitement and challenge at each new turn.
Her flight through life filled with many happy adventures
and memories to put in her book of life,
as the sun moves along that steady path across the sky.

When the sun at last begins to set in the west
and her flight nears its end, she can look back along her path
and know that she has been everything she can be
and has done her very best.
