Art –The Next Step- Painting and Mixed Media for your Teens
Learning how to create your own works of Art while experimenting and playing with Acrylic Paints and Mediums.
This class will provide an opportunity to discover your own creativity by exploring some exciting and unique forms of acrylic paints and mediums. You will grow in confidence as you learn product knowledge and different techniques to create your own unique works of art!
This Class would be great for Teens that love art at school, that enjoy art but maybe bored and need some challenges, teens that would like to expand their knowledge and explore different forms of paints and mediums.
.1) Learn the differences between acrylic paints and mediums such as Paints, Gels, Pastes, Grounds and Additives
2) -Explore Colour: Modern vs Mineral pigments and experiment with colour mixing.
3) – Look at different forms of textures such as fibre glass, papers, ribbons, textures, pastes, gels, and additives .
4) – Experiment with different painting techniques such as painting, washes and impasto painting .
5) – Ideas and Composition – Working on how to come up with ideas and then how to translate them into your own unique works of art.
I believe that art is a great way for Children to express themselves and over the last couple of years I have been going into schools and teaching art extension classes. My aim with these classes is to provide an opportunity for students to discover their own creativity by exploring some exciting and unique forms of mixed media in a fun environment. We experiment with colour mixing and painting techniques as well as playing around with different textures to create original Artworks. It is exciting to see how the students grow in confidence as they learn different techniques to create their own works of art.
I have been really fortunate over the last couple of years to be able to go into Schools and teach Art Extension Classes.
I like to give the children a different perspective of how they can create their own artworks.
I believe that in today’s society our children are not taught to think for themselves… and through my Art Extension Classes I like to try to extend the children’s thought process and creative abilities by experimenting with different forms of mixed media, products and techniques.

ART WORKSHOP FOR 9-12 YEAR OLDS
This workshop will cater for students from 9-12 years of age and will provide an opportunity for students to discover their own creativity by exploring some exciting and unique forms of mixed media in a fun environment. We will experiment with painting, colour, texture and composition. Students will grow in confidence as they learn different techniques to create their own works of art. (Materials for workshop included in fee).
Date to be confirmed for next Workshop ( unfortunately Due to Earthquakes this year and lack of venue, these workshops have been put on hold)
Course Length 1/2 day
Course Fee $70.00
Requirements Students need to bring pencil, rubber and A4 pad, all other materials supplied and included in course fee

This workshop will provide an opportunity for students to discover their own creativity by exploring some exciting and unique forms of mixed media in a fun environment. We will experiment with colour mixing and painting techniques as well as different textures within artworks, acrylic transfers and learn about composition within artworks. Students will grow in confidence as they learn different techniques to create their own works of art. (Materials for workshop included in fee).
