This is a lot different than I normally paint…  I am sure it will appeal to any horse lover!
This stone can be used as an ornament outside or in and would even make a great Door Stop!
It is really hard to show all the beautiful colours within the horses coat, and mane… there is  heaps of texture within the mane.
  This Stone is fearly large measuring appprox  12cm x  15cm  x Approx 3cm depth.

What have I been doing? ….Working toward to exhibitions!

I have been extremely busy over the last month or so, apart from being sick and trying to recover I have also been painting my way toward some exhibitions.   I have been experimenting with a slightly different style and technique for me and finding it Great!… maybe down the track I might pop a photo or two on here and share them with you before the exhibitions!

Earlier this year I started to paint some smaller works and sold them on Trade Me  which I really enjoyed  doing.  I must admit I have been so busy with creating my larger works that I haven’t really had time to paint any smaller artworks for Trade Me… so keep your eyes out and hopefully over the next couple of weeks I will be able to paint  some more artworks and pop them on Trade Me!

I am so stoked about this that I had to share it with you !

I have been looking around for a long time for a Special  necklace …one that could say so much about me !  but could never find one!

So

as I decided to commission my Lovely friend Deanna Gracie to make me one !  but first, I had a few requests … I really wanted a Butterfly, Korus, and a greenstone… I  wanted a necklace that I would wear often and that was close to my heart and could tell you something about me! boy poor Deanna what a challenge!  We talked and came up with some idea’s and then I left it in her hands…    I couldn’t believe my eyes when I finally saw this most Beautiful Wearable Work of Art!! 

It is just perfect!

Butterfly – Symbolising freedom of flight.  In life it is your choice to be whoever you want to be and you can if you take a chance to fly and live your life with passion.

Koru -  symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace.

Pounamu (Greenstone) - In the Māori culture Pounamu is considered a taonga (treasure). 

Heart -  My greatest Loves  & Passions

Inspired by nature and made by hand in sterling silver, 18ct gold and is embellished with a New Zealand pounamu greenstone.

Just in the middle of painting….

Hi all, I am just in the middle of painting a large Touch Stone… it is 11cm x 10cm x 2cm .  I am painting a  “Checkered Swallowtail Butterfly” one of my favourites in the butterfly family! keep watch I will pop some works in progress shots on here in the morning!

These touch stones have proven very popular…  great gifts, nice and light and easy to send to family and friends around NZ or Overseas

Gutted … My Heart goes out to this School!!

I am really gutted … a few weeks ago I delivered some artworks to an Intermediate School here in Christchurch… they had worked really hard, studying how art and the community mix, and decided to put on an Art Exhibition at their schooland to raise funds for a community charity! , a couple of the Children contacted me and asked if I would put some of my artworks in this exhibition… I really enjoy teaching children art and helping them discover  new skills etc.. so was delighted to be involved.  On the friday afternoon I delivered the artworks to them….  BUT … got a call the next morning to be advised that the School had been hit by Arsonists.

I have taken off my website the artwork that was effected by the fire, but my heart goes out to those children and teachers that have been working a long time towards this goal!

It is such a sad occurance! I really do wonder what is going on in our Communities ??  :(

Just started a new artwork…

Hi guys I have just started creating a new artwork…  I must admit I havnt been creating any larger artworks for a while.. as I have been taking a break  and just creating some littlees for trademe… but I have been getting itchy feet to paint a larger landscape…

I have been wanting to create this particular artwork for a while now… and for some reason now just seems to be the right time…

This work will be a mixture of acrylic and my signature 2d texture mixed media,  since this has been at the back of my mind it is finally nice to get started on it!  So finally this afternoon I put brush to canvas and started it… I will take some photos in the morning to share with you !
